About SCAPS & our mission

Society to Create Awareness on Public Safety — a Hyderabad-based society spreading safety information through publicsafetyindia.com.

Why SCAPS exists

Preparing communities for the unforeseen.

Each day brings situations where a lack of preparedness can turn small incidents into serious harm — road incidents, fires in public places, terror events, and natural calamities such as earthquakes, flash floods and cyclones. Making every individual aware of these possibilities and providing preparedness education is essential to reducing loss of life and property.

With this in mind, SCAPS — Society to Create Awareness on Public Safety — was initiated on 25th September 2007 and formally registered on 25th January 2008 under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act 2001.

One of the society's objectives is to bring awareness of safety preparedness and orderliness in public life — through this website, publicsafetyindia.com, which we develop and host ourselves.

Please note:

publicsafetyindia.com is not a Government of India website.

Help us reach more children

SCAPS runs entirely on community goodwill. Even ₹15 educates one child in our WalkRight pedestrian-safety programme.
